Resource Questions — Frequently Asked
Where can I find Louisiana business tax forms?
Louisiana business tax forms are available at the Louisiana Department of Revenue website (revenue.louisiana.gov). For parish-level sales tax forms, you may need to contact each parish directly or use LaTAP (Louisiana Taxpayer Access Point) at latap.revenue.louisiana.gov, which allows electronic filing for state and many parish returns.
Where can I pay federal estimated taxes online?
Federal estimated taxes can be paid online at EFTPS.gov (Electronic Federal Tax Payment System). You must enroll to use EFTPS, but enrollment is free. You can also pay estimated taxes through the IRS Direct Pay system at irs.gov/directpay without enrollment.
What is the IRS Small Business and Self-Employed Tax Center?
The IRS Small Business and Self-Employed Tax Center (irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed) is the IRS's main resource hub for small business owners. It includes information on starting a business, business structures, employment taxes, estimated taxes, and more. It's a good starting point for understanding your federal tax obligations.
How do I register a new business in Louisiana?
New businesses in Louisiana are registered through the Louisiana Secretary of State's office at sos.la.gov. You can file Articles of Organization (for an LLC) or Articles of Incorporation (for a corporation) online. After state registration, you'll need a federal EIN from the IRS, a Louisiana tax account with the Department of Revenue, and any applicable parish business licenses.
How do I log into QuickBooks Online?
QuickBooks Online is accessed at quickbooks.intuit.com. Your login is the email address and password you used when setting up your QuickBooks account. If you are an ASU client, your bookkeeper works in your QuickBooks account — you retain full access at all times and can log in to view reports and transactions whenever you want.
